Are you making a difference to someone else’s life?
It’s been a long long time since I blogged. So here I am again. Just a quick update of what I have been doing. Life has been like a roller coaster ride. There has been ups and downs and I find myself being zapped into the cycle. I thank God that He has been with me throughout all this.
I’ve always wanted to believe that people are good, especially children. However, during this period of time, my belief was shaken. And it didn’t help that someone told me that I am too kind and trusting. Oh well, I still want to believe that people are good…Â 🙂
Went for an international conference on character development today. I must say that I am very inspired by some of the sharing and speeches. A particular quote struck a deep chord with me.
“Life is not about how many medals or certificates you have, it’s about how many lives you have touched.”
Indeed, life is about touching other people’s lives. It may sound idealistic or unrealistic, but I think it’s so true. Many a times, we are zapped into the fast-paced life that our society leads, that we neglect the people around us. It always feels good to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea with a good old pal, but have we become so busy that we can’t even afford the time for an SMS or a phone call? Other than all those negative comments, have we made a positive affirmation to someone to make their day? In the midst of our “busy busy” mode, have we forgotten to thank people who do the simple but important tasks for us? Eg. the lady who cleans the office toilets, and clears the rubbish bin?
Let us not forget to thank anyone, and let us make an attempt to brighten someone else’s day. You would never know when you need someone to brighten your day too. 🙂
I feel rejuvenated after today’s conference. Woke that idealistic part of me again! =) And I pray that God will give me the wisdom to carry out my ideals! =)
