Masters or Slaves?
Decided to take a break and pen down some frustrations… As some of you may know, I’m doing my masters part-time right now. And as the title suggests, I’m beginning to feel that I’m a slave to it, cos I’m not enjoying the process at all. I must say it started off pretty well. First module was an essay writing type of module, on research methods. Oh, that was easy peasy. Imagine me studying on my flight to China for a work trip, staying up to read the textbook every night whilst I was in China, then doing my assignment and submitting it to my tutor via e-mail. Well, the second module was pretty simple, lots of calculation and computation. Easy peasy no. 2. Module no. 3 was quite alright, the hours were very long, 6 days of 9am to 5pm of lessons, but on the whole it was still manageable.
Now comes the terror of all terrors and the cause of me regretting my decision to get a Masters. Module No. 4 is horrenous. Firstly there are 2 tutors teaching the module (aka twice the amount of homework), and both tutors think we only take 1 module and don’t have to work!!! It’s crazy to expect us to submit a 1000-word essay once every fortnight because we still have to work! And the 1000-word essay is not the only homework. Take next week for example, I have 3 essays due! Can you imagine?
Come Wednesday, I would have to submit my 3 essays. I have no wish to be working hard on it on Tues cos it’s my birthday, but up to now, I have absolutely nothing to write. Please pray for me… I really really need God’s grace and blessings…Â
